He is an experienced lecturer in dental Implantology and has spoken at postgraduate meetings in university and hospital settings, at the request of both private and NHS organisations.

In association with the University of Sheffield, Simon has been actively involved in research into design aspects of dental implant systems. He has published many articles on implant dentistry for professional Journals in the UK, some subsequently republished in the USA. He has attended many national and international implantology meetings and courses in various countries including Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the USA with direct experience of using a number of the world's best-documented implant systems and has fitted many hundreds of implants over a period of years. He occasionally acts as a scientific reviewer for leading national and international professional journals including The International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants (IJOMI) and the British Dental Journal (BDJ).

Simon originally graduated from Guys Hospital, London in 1982, later establishing his clinic at Onward House in 1987. He has extensive experience in private crown, bridge and denture work with over 20 years experience in the use of intravenous sedation as an aid to the treatment of nervous and phobic patients.
